In-person short-term projects April - June 2022. 

Learn, explore, and step into all of the fun 4-H has to offer. 

The 4-H program helps young people, ages 5-18, reach their fullest potential as competent, confident individuals who contribute to and are connected with their communities. In 4-H programs, youth are encouraged to discover their passions, adopt a growth mindset, practice self-reflection and set goals. 4-H projects are focused around citizenship, healthy living, and STEM.

Youth are encouraged to register for one or more short-term projects! See what 4-H is all about and experience some of the amazing projects 4-H has to offer.

Age Requirements: Depends on the activity, see below. In general, youth must be 5 years old on or before December 31, 2021 and not older than 18 years old. 

Project Descriptions

Outdoor Adventure, Napa County
Join 4-H on an outdoor adventure hiking our way through Napa County! Get outside, explore nature, and experience fun outdoor learning. Hiking locations will include Skyline Wilderness Park, Moore Creek Park, and Bale Grist Mill/Bothe Park. Hikes may be up to 3 miles long. Recommended for ages 8 and over.

Service Dog Training, Napa
This introductory service dog class will introduce youth to different aspects of service dog training. Topics will include training dogs to heal, come, wait, turn on/off lights, pick up and return dropped items, and some commands to help veterans to ease their anxiety. Youth should be comfortable with dogs.

Science Challenges & Building, St. Helena/Rutherford
Participate in hands-on science challenges! Egg Drop: build your own egg transport vessel and see if your egg can survive the drop. Stellar Optics: build a telescope and learn how they are used to explore space. Cosmic Claw: engineer a mechanical arm like the ones used to harvest crops in space. Recommended for ages 8 and over.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Napa
Discover who has stolen the disks of warm chewy deliciousness and put your CSI skills to the test as you analyze clues and work to solve The Case of the Kidnapped Cookies! Recommended for grades 4th-8th.

Archery Class, American Canyon 4-H Farm
In this introductory archery class, youth will learn archery etiquette and safety while beginning to develop their shooting form and having fun with hands-on shooting practice! Age Requirement: Must be at least 9 years old.
