February 18: 10am-1pm (virtual) February 25: 9am-5pm at Shone Farm, Santa Rosa Junior College Day 1 will include general information on compost impacts, quality, and assessing compost test results. Day 2 will focus on vineyard and rangeland application. Please reach out with any questions and feel free to pass on to producers who may be interested. | UC Master Gardeners Workshop on August 15: Home Vineyard - Part 2 | Home Vineyard - Part 2 - Saturday, August 15, 2015, 9:30am-2:00pm - Napa What to do, what to look for and how to plan for harvest and crush in the vineyard, managing the vines after crush, and preparing for winter and the next growing season. A special team of home vineyard Master Gardeners will present this workshop, and answer your own individual questions. Saturday, August 15, 2015 Time includes a 30 minute lunch break. | Monitoring Guide for Western Grapeleaf Skeletonizer | On June 24, 2015, staff of the Napa County Agricultural Commissioner found one male Western Grapeleaf Skeletonizer in a pheromone-baited trap in a vineyard on Tubbs Lane in Calistoga. UCCE Advisors Lucia Varela and Monica Cooper developed a "Monitoring Guide for Western Grapeleaf Skeletonizer" so that vineyard owners, growers and workers could familiarize themselves with the pest's life stages and feeding habits. | Small Home Vineyard Workshop | There is still room to sign up for the Small Home Vineyard workshop on Saturday, March 29 at the Yountville Community Center. Register through the Town of Yountville Parks & Recreation Department at (707) 944-8712. 9:30 - 11:30 am - will focus on bud break to harvest in your vineyard including grape physiology, canopy management, vine nutrition, fertilization, irrigation and cover crop. 12:30 - 2:30 pm - will focus on learning to identify and manage the most common pests especially powdery mildew.
